Professional Internship Opportunities

Stressdesign has a respected internship program in professional brand communication design. Our internships are real opportunities for capable students and recent graduates to get hands-on experience, doing real work in a modern communication design studio. Stressdesign offers 3 internship tracks which are open 12 months/year.

Brand + Design (GDP)

Candidates should demonstrate beginning mastery of communication design for print, and page layout. Professional knowledge of modern design tools expected and required, including Adobe CSx Suite, Microsoft Office. The best GDP candidates will demonstrate neat presentation, craftsmanship and ability to communicate clearly.

Design Web (GDW)

Candidates should demonstrate a unique ability to apply graphic design for websites, web page layout, web typography, and interactive elements. GDW candidates will also be able to produce those layouts to XHTML/CSS standards for consistent cross-browser rendering using modern coding tools. The best GDW candidates will demonstrate neat presentation, craftsmanship and ability to communicate clearly.

Web Development (WD)

Candidates will be able to develop code for page layout for consistent cross-browser rendering in XHTML/CSS. Proficiency with ActionScript, AJAX, MySQL, PHP, Ruby on Rails, or other web technology capability or interests should be clearly indicated. The best WD candidates will demonstrate neat presentation, craftsmanship and ability to communicate clearly.


Minimum of 5 semesters or equivalent (junior year, second semester), Legal right to work in the U.S.

  • Acceptance based on resume and portfolio review demonstrating skills in corporate identity,publication, web, etc.
  • Candidate must demonstrate competent skills with Adobe Creative Suite (CSx)

  • 3 months (+/-) for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer terms


  • Held year-round and minimum of 1 per 3 month period

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create prototypes
  • Assist in preparing for presentations
  • Develop design concepts
  • Assist in production
  • Participate in internal design critiques
  • Participate in client design reviews


  • This position is a paid internship
  • Pay will be commensurate with experience and skill
  • Candidates requiring work-for-credit will be considered only under special circumstance
  • Transportation, room and board and any work permits are the intern's responsibility

  • Printed Portfolio preferred over digital, (WD track candidates excepted)

  • Your digital portfolio should run in modern web browser, or display via PDF, with no additional/proprietary technology required
