University Lectures
For the 2009-2010 season, stressdesign launched a new web presence for one of the premier lecture series in the country, University Lectures.
“The University Lectures website,” says Nathan Eaton, design lead for the project, “extends the identity update stressdesign has created for the special event series to the web for the first time. It is a great opportunity for the organization to have realized a unified toolset for strategic communications.” Eaton continues, “We built considerable automation into the site to ensure our solution was as powerful as it looks. For instance, once the season is loaded into the content management system, the front page updates automatically.”
The new website also adds social features, calendar feeds and is integrated into our direct e-mail platform, AXNT™. These features allow visitors to share the site and to have event information on their own calendars, PDAs or smart-phones.
“The University Lectures identity was created originally by Stressdesign. From the start they had a very clear vision of what our new website should be and what we wanted—colorful, appealing, exciting, yet very fluid, straight-forward and user-friendly.” Says Esther Gray, Universty Lecture Coordinator. Ms. Gray continues, “They were able to clearly articulate their strategic and aesthetic ideas to my team and their rationale and expertise allowed me to share the development process with our director and board in a way that gave me immediate buy-in on the project and design. The results clearly speak for themselves. Our website is viewed not only by our own faculty, students and alumni but also perspective students and their parents both nationally and internationally and the numbers continue to grow. Clearly the new University Lectures website has given me a professional platform to promote and share our events with a much larger audience than ever before. The ‘subscribe’ aspect of the website has allowed us to begin building a constantly growing email data base which translates into reduced mailings and costs. Stressdesign intuitively knew what we wanted and needed in our website and they provided us with so very much more.”
