Have you gotten a Facebook account yet? We have and we’re thinking it’s a pretty good thing. Facebook is unique amongst many of the social networking sites in that it allows business, organizations, and institutions to have their own page with in the site. LinkedIn is great for professional individuals, but there are no provisions for adding your company — we think this will change soon, by the way. There are other sites like Get Satisfaction that are only for business and services issues. Facebook has had the foresight to combine its great personal networking tools to include business.

Marc Stress, president and design director of Stressdesign, a Syracuse-based design firm specializing in communications for business and education clients, was selected for the January 2008 “People to Watch” issue of Graphic Design USA. Stress was among 43 design professionals across the country to receive a full-page profile in the industry-leading magazine.
Graphic Design USA, the news and ideas magazine for graphic design professionals, was established in 1963 and has an estimated monthly readership of over 100,000. In January of each year, Graphic Design USA magazine publishes the “People To Watch” feature. Those selected embody the spirit of the creative community. The November/December issue of Graphic Design USA showcases selected winners of our three decade old American Graphic Design Awards competition. It is open to everyone in the community: advertising agencies, graphic design firms, corporate, institutional and publishing inhouse departments, and more. It honors outstanding new work of all kinds from across the country and North America: print and collateral, advertising and sales promotion, packaging and point-of-purchase, internet and interactive design, broadcast and motion graphics, corporate identity and logos. The firm also received 3 other awards in the world-wide competition.

Stressdesign recently completed and delivered a custom brochure for the medical device company, Medical Acoustics. The brochure helps the company introduce its breakthrough respiratory device, The Lung Flute®.
The Lung Flute® is cleared by the FDA for the collection of diagnostic sputum samples for multiple pulmonary disease states, such as pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, asthma, lung cancer and tuberculosis. Lung Flute® features include:

Stressdesign delivered the brochure on time for a major trade show appearance where the company was scheduled to meet with prospective investors. The compelling piece for the uses custom illustrations which demonstrate the devices operation, and provides visuals to indicate its use of low-frequency sound energy.
