Migration
In September stressdesign launched website and communication materials for the Migration lecture series. Syracuse Symposiumâ„¢ is a semester-long intellectual and artistic festival celebrating interdisciplinary thinking, imagining, and creating, presented by The College of Arts and Sciences to the entire Syracuse community. Now in its 8th year, stressdesign has provided communication design since the beginning of the series.
The 2008 theme is “migration.†Migration means movement… to warmer climates, safe havens, deeper insights and new perspectives. To ask how birds migrate is to engage the biological and physical sciences fully, and also the mysteries of signal detection and transmission. To ask what explains a refugee population calls for inquiry into history, economics, politics, religion, and more. Migration changes what is left behind even as it creates something new. To explore these phenomena is to probe the dynamic of human existence in all its dimensions.
Stressdesign drew on input and direction event organizers, college staff and faculty to meet the needs of the target audience. In order to reach its audience, the materials across print, direct mail large format, and web were designed with the highest usability, legibility and search optimization in mind. Each of the delivereables create a part of the experience of each event.
The results provide the community and audiences with rich additions to the live events.
