Christine Walker joins the stressdesign creative office team, as designer. Ms. Walker brings a wealth of design and problem solving experience in print and new media development. Her time spent at a web design boutique and agency experience bring a fresh perspective to the office. Christine will be responsible for all facets of problem solving while at stressdesign. Stressdesign has recently launched the journeys website for Fall 2003. Syracuse Symposium is an intellectual festival celebrating interdisciplinary thinking, imagining, and creating. The theme, journeys covers journeys of exploration and discovery, intellectual journeys, mythical and artistic journeys, migrations of peoples, exiles, liberations, pilgrimages, and more. The symposium which will run from September through December 2003 includes lectures, exhibits, performances, and other special events.related links:: journeys

Stressdesign has recently created a graphic mark for a special Upstate New York College tour. Cornell University, Binghamton University, and Syracuse University are working together on a program called Cross the Bridge to Success. Stressdesign was chosen for its expertise in symbol and identity development.The program is designed to give New York City students an opportunity to visit three colleges outside of the NYC Metropolis, to illuminate the quality education and experience at an Upstate University.

The Redhouse is a unique 99-seat venue coming to 201 South West Street in Armory Square. Renovations of an historic, three-story brick building are scheduled to begin this summer and to reach completion in spring 2004.The Redhouse will provide year round events in theater, film, fine art and music in an innovative and intimate setting.

Kelli Lear has accepted a position with FRCH. FRCH is a multi- disciplinary design firm, located in Cincinnati, OH. FRCH employs more than 150 people with clients around the globe. Kelli will be joining a design team of 15 dedicated to restaurant and hospitality design.For nearly two years, Kelli’s skills have been instrumental in the operations of the office. Since joining stressdesign, Ms. Lear has taken creative lead on many projects, including Syracuse Symposium Journeys, The Salvation Army’s Others, Reflections Magazine, National Portfolio Days, and many other successful projects.
Kelli’s last day at stressdesign is 30 June 2003.
Her energy and enthusiasm will be greatly missed. Please join me in wishing her the greatest success and prosperity in her new position.

On 09 June, Dave Berman is the newest addition to the stressdesign team. Dave is a graduate of the School of Art + Design in Alfred, NY. Mr. Berman brings a terrific understanding of the tenants of graphic design, and has an effective approach for developing thoughtful, invigorating communications.While not solving graphic design problems, you may find Dave coaching gymnastics, or performing a twisting triple from the 3 meter board; in spite of claims that he’s retired from the later. We are thrilled to have Dave join the office.

Stressdesign president Marc Stress will be speaking at the annual conference for New York State Association of College and Admissions Councelors (NYSACAC). This years conference is being held at the University of Buffalo on June 4- June 6.Marc will be speaking in a panel discussion about the design and development of college publications. Stressdesign will be in attendance with a booth in the exhibition hall.
