Voices:: Promoting Expression

A unique, collaborative fundraiser and awareness event for Hiscock Legal Aid Society and the Everson Museum of Art, VOICES offers the opportunity for guests to learn about and support two organizations that encourage and promote expression, and finding one’s unique voice through advocacy, and the visual and performing arts. This special evening will include fine food, musical entertainment by select local musicians, and full access to the treasures of the museum.

Student Portfolio Review


The Upstate New York Chapter of the AIGA invites the 2011 graduating graphic design students of New York to our 3rd Annual Student Portfolio Review, this year in 3 locations: Albany, Rochester, and Syracuse. The Syracuse review will be hosted at stressdesign on Thursday April 7, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 10 p.m.

THE EVENT:
The review is a chance for you to practice your interview skills and get valuable feedback from local professionals about your design work and resume in a no-risk, non-competitive environment geared at preparing you for the professional interviewing process. Please note this is not a employment interview but an opportunity to meet professionals and get important feedback on your portfolio to make it the best it can be.

Walker to Teach at Caz College

Extended Learning Workshops taught by Christine Walker

Christine Walker, senior designer of stressdesign will be teaching multiple workshops this winter at Cazenovia College‘s extended learning adult education program this winter/spring 2011 semester. She will be teaching an Intro to Computer Graphics workshop, as well as Beginner Bookbinding and Intermediate Bookbinding workshops.

Be sure to register today, as today is the last day to register for the Beginner Bookbinding workshop! You will make a variety of simple stitches in the Beginner Bookbinding workshop that will help you to understand fundamental bookbinding, and will help to build the foundation for future bookmaking projects.

Measuring Design Changes

A website update doesn’t always have to be a major departure from an existing website. If the site is functioning well across most of the important communication your organization requires, the site may benefit from some thoughtful updates in order to make sure that it meets its’ goals. This is the approach we took to the latest stressdesign update, which is now live at stressdesign.com. In addition to overall content updates, a few important changes to the site structure and design were considered to improve site performance.
