Walker Judges Awards
Stressdesign, a Syracuse-based design firm specializing in communications for business and education clients, was recently represented on the judging panel for the second annual Portfolios.com Awards Show. Senior Designer Christine Walker was one of only three judges selected to critique entries in the competition’s Graphic Design category.
Launched in 1995, Portfolios.com was the first searchable creative directory on the Internet. The site showcases the best designers, illustrators, photographers, writers and film professionals in the industry and has been touted by leading industry publications, including Communication Arts, Applied Arts and I.D. Magazine.
The annual Portfolios.com Award Show was created to recognize creative excellence. This year’s competition awarded entries in five disciplines: Advertising, Graphic Design, Web Design, Photography and Illustration.
Walker, who resides in Syracuse, developed her design expertise, with a specialization in print and interface design, through years of agency and in-house experience. She has produced designs for nationally recognized organizations, such as Weyerhaeuser, ADT, Welch Allyn, The Salvation Army and Sallie Mae as well as local companies and organizations, including The Pyramid Company, Syracuse Stage and Syracuse University. Walker earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design from Fredonia State University.
